The JK Southerland Classic 3 Man Scramble will be held on August 1st, 2009 with a shotgun start at 9am ! This event will be held in Batesville at the Eagle Mountain Golf Course!
The J. K. Southerland Classic is named after J. K. Southerland, a local business man and pioneer in the poultry industry in Arkansas. He founded the J. K. Southerland Co. during the depression and was co-founder of The Citizens Bank in 1953, where he served as president until his death in 1981.
People were at the heart of everything Mr. Southerland did and it showed as he continually found ways to serve the community. This Tournament is played in honor of his efforst and hands-on approach in developing the J. K. Southerland Municipal Golf Course of Batesville, AR. His spirit and ingenuity will live on for generations to come.
