Layali El Andalus will present music in the spirit of the Muslim and Judeo ancient traditions of Andalusia Tuesday, Feb. 8, at 7 p.m. in the Administration Auditorium at Harding University. Tickets will be $3 at the door.
Layali El Andalus is a Judeo-Muslim ensemble led by Moroccan singer/oud player Rachid Halihal. The group brings to life a diverse repertoire of music including songs from Andalusia, Morocco, Tunisia, Yemen, Israel and the Middle East.
The ensemble is made up of world-class Muslim, Jewish and Christian musicians including Brahim Fribgani – percussion (Doumbek & Middle Eastern percussion); Uri Sharlin – accordion and piano; Hadar Noiberg – fluit; and David Buchbut – percussion (Riq & Middle Eastern percussion).

The final performer in the 2010-11 Classical Lyceum Series will be guitarist Petar Jankovic, March 24, at 7 p.m. in the Administration Auditorium on campus.
Harding had a record enrollment this year of more than 6,800 students from 49 states and over 50 foreign countries. It is the largest private university in Arkansas and attracts more National Merit Scholars than any other private university in the state.
