Leadership Batesville Retreat Prepares Participants for Leadership Roles

April (Batesville, AR)—The 2016 Leadership Batesville class attended the program’s annual retreat on Thursday, Apr. 7 and Friday, Apr. 8 at The Eagle’s Nest Lodge at John 3:16 Ministries. The Leadership Batesville retreat is designed to build community among program participants, assess each participant’s leadership skills, evaluate methods for creating great leaders, and establish leadership plans that are specific to each attendee. Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce (BACC) Director of Grant Writing and Communications Danell Hetrick said of the retreat: “The 2016 Leadership Batesville Class is a fantastic group of people. The Chamber is so grateful to each community organization and business that has allowed us the opportunity to work with some of their most valuable team members. Our community is truly lucky to have such great people who are passionate about leading it.” Leadership Batesville is designed to identify, educate, and prepare potential leaders for leadership roles in our community. The program consists of 10 education sessions that are held in various locations throughout Independence County. Sessions include an orientation, an overnight kick-off retreat, a state government session in Little Rock, volunteer opportunities,and numerous educational sessions that focus on business etiquette, state and local government, economic development, county industry, quality of life, healthcare, education, non-profits, and board of directors training. Participants who complete the Leadership Batesville program will be honored at the BACC’s 2017 Annual Awards.
