Library Friends Foundation Receives 501(c)(3)Status

The White County Public Library (WCPL) Friends Foundation,Inc., a non-profit volunteer organization serving the public libraries of White County, has recently received IRS 501(c)(3)tax exempt status allowing for tax deductible memberships and contributions. A county-wide membership drive is now in progress. Membership forms are available at each of the seven library branches including the Searcy Public Library, Lyda Miller Public Library (Bald Knob), Baldwin Memorial Library (Judsonia), Goff Public Library (Beebe), Pangburn Public Library, Bradford Public Library, and the Rose Bud Public Library.

The WCPL Friends Foundation is dedicated to supporting and enriching the capabilities, resources, and services of the public libraries of White
County. Their mission is accomplished through fundraising, advocacy, and promoting greater awareness of the library’s valuable resources. The
Foundation and the Library System work in partnership to determine where private funds may be used for greatest impact. Projects can be both small, such as a book sale or event to raise funds for special library events for children, or large, such as fundraising for a new library facility. Donors to the WCPL Foundation may direct their contributions to specific identified areas. The WCPL Friends Foundation does not supplant the city’s and county’s responsibility for funding strong libraries.

For questions about the WCPL Friends Foundation or to request a membership form by mail, please contact Darla Ino, Library Director of the White County Regional Library System at (501)279-2870 ext. 24. Online memberships and donations will be available in the near future via the library website, whitecountylibraries.org.
