Little Rock to Host ‘2012 American Energy and Jobs Tour’ Event

Congressman Tim Griffin (AR-02) announced today that Little Rock will host a 2012 American Energy and Jobs Tour event on Thursday, May 24, 2012.  On that same day, members of the House Energy Action Team (HEAT) will participate in a series of events across the country to promote an all-of-the above energy strategy that the President has ignored for far too long.  This event is open to the media.

Summary:      Reps. Tim Griffin and Rick Crawford will meet with employees and tour the facility of Welspun Tubular.  Welspun, which operates a pipe manufacturing plant in Little Rock, announced last December that it was laying off 60 employees as a result of President Obama’s decision to delay the Keystone XL pipeline.  Hundreds of miles of pipe still sit idle at their facility due to the Obama Administration’s refusal to grant a permit for the Keystone XL pipeline’s construction.
