Local Physician Talks to Students about Healthy Habits

OB/GYN Kris Citty, M.D., with Searcy Medical Center, a department of White County Medical Center, recently visited Mrs. Barbara Barnes’s and Mrs. Kim Mote’s 1st grade classes at Harding Academy to talk to them about healthy habits.

As part of a biology section the classes are learning, Dr. Citty talked to the students about the importance of healthy eating and exercise habits to keep their bodies strong long into their adult years.

After a brief question and answer time, the children enjoyed a healthy snack of fruit and vegetables that reinforced the healthy habits message.

Dr. Citty, accompanied by his wife Jenny Citty, RN, gave the students doctor’s hats from WCMC, as well as K.C. Koala trading cards that contain healthful messages such as the eating a balanced diet, exercising and using good hand-washing techniques.
