Lyon College to host World Famous Glenn Miller Orchestra

The Lyon College Band Program, under the leadership of Director of Bands Monty Hill, is pleased to host the Glenn Miller Orchestra in concert on October 17 at 7:30 p.m. in Brown Chapel. The show will open with the Batesville High School Jazz Band, directed by Phillip Shewmaker.

Under the baton of music director and vocalist Nich Hilscher, the Glenn Miller Orchestra will perform selections from its vast library of big band and swing hits, including “Moonlight Serenade,” “At Last,” and “Danny Boy.”

One of the most sought after big bands in the world today, the Glenn Miller Orchestra plays an average of 300 live dates a year around the globe for millions of fans. The band has performed in all 50 states as well as throughout Europe, Australia, Iceland, New Zealand, Guam, the Philippines and South and Central America.
