Mike Snider to Perform August 4, 2012

On Saturday, August 4, 2012 at 7 p.m., The Ozark Folk Center State Park will present a Celebrity Concert with Mike Snider.

Snider is a national banjo champion who broke into the country music scene in the 1980s. He made hundreds of television appearances on The Nashville Network’s “Nashville Now” and had a seven-year stint on the perennial television favorite, “Hee Haw”.

Snider has appeared frequently at the Opryland Theme Park in Nashville, Tennessee and was invited to join the Grand Ole Opry in 1990.  Mike has appeared at the Ozark Folk Center in the past and is eager to share his music and humor again in Mountain View.

This July, Mike Snider will be presented the 2012 Heritage Award at the 35th Annual Uncle

Dave Macon Days festival in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.  The Heritage Award is an honor that is presented to an individual who has dedicated their lives to the promotion and preservation of traditional southern music.  David Holt received the Heritage Award in 2011.

Mike has assembled a band that compliments his talents for old-time, bluegrass and acoustic music.  Join us at the Ozark Folk Center for an evening of pickin’ and especially grinnin’.

Doors open at 6:00 p.m. and the show starts at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $20.00.  Call 870-269-3851 to purchase tickets.
