NCA Artist League Take Top Honors At Shaw’s Nursery Exhibit

Members of the North Central Arkansas Artist League were presented awards at an artists’ reception July 3rd at Shaw’s Nursery in Greer’s Ferry. The exhibit based on the theme “Nature’s Bounty” showed art work by many artists throughout the region and was held at the nursery through the first two weeks of July.

Anne Strawn of Fairfield Bay won Best of Show for her painting “That Split Second.”

First place Wildlife was received by Julie Caswell, Edgemont, for her colored pencil rendition called “Spring Bunny.” Dorothy G. Hendrickson of Fairfield Bay received First Place Landscape for her painting called “Country Road.”

In the media category, First Place Acrylic/Oil went to Connie Hood of Fairfield Bay for her painting “Summer Flowers.” Hendrickson won First Place Watercolor for her painting called “Lamp Post Garden.” Linda Lorenz of Higden won First Place 3D for her “Clay Vase.”

Judges were Ellen Hobgood, Heber Springs; Raye Rabbitfoot and Sandy Smith, both of Greers Ferry.

Louise Shaw of Fairfield Bay was Coordinator of the Exhibit for the NCA Artist League.

The NCA Artist League consists of a group of artists who meet at Bayside Art Studio and Gallery at the intersection of Highway 330 and the road to the Marina in Old Town Fairfield Bay. The public is invited to visit the gallery while the artists work each Monday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. They welcome new members at all artistic levels from beginners to professional.
