Ozark Folk Center State Park Summer Mountain Dulcimer Workshop July 21-23

Mountain View, Arkansas – Local performers and nationally renowned teachers are featured in this year’s Mountain Dulcimer Workshop at the Ozark Folk Center State Park. Classes are held daily from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., July 21-23. Local musicians Pam Setser and Duane Porterfield will be joined by Joellen Lapidus as guest instructors.

“This year’s line-up is one the most diverse and comprehensive to date” said Music Director Daren Dortin. “Pam specializes in traditional Ozark style playing, Duane is a former national champion and Joellen is a veteran of the dulcimer scene and worked with Joni Mitchell in the late sixties and early seventies”.

In addition to the daily workshops, each instructor will be a featured performer as part of the evening shows in the Large Auditorium, from 7:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m.

The 3 day workshop features instruction for all levels of play. Pre-registration for the 3 day workshop is $150 until July 7 with the price increasing to $200 after July 7. All registration includes 3 days of classroom instruction as well as daily admission to the Craft Village and nightly concerts in the Large Auditorium. Day of, walk up registration, is available at $75 per day.
