Ozarka College Continuing Education Partnering with NOAA to Offer Storm-spotting Course

Ozarka College Continuing Education will offer a storm-spotting course on Monday, Oct. 28 from 6 – 9 p.m. in the Lecture Hall
of the John E. Miller Education Complex on the Melbourne campus. This course is free and open to the public.

John Robinson from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration will present the course and all participants will be able to print a certificate for participating.

Topics to be covered include severe weather statistics for Arkansas, the importance of accurate severe weather reports, discussion of the Enhanced Fujita Scale for rating tornadoes, cloud formations that accompany severe weather and cloud formations that could be mistaken for severe weather, and thunderstorms and the types of severe weather that can accompany them.
