Ozarka College Culinary Arts students win medals at SkillsUSA competition

Students from the Ozarka College CulinaryArts Program recently completed the SkillsUSA competition in Hot Springs, wherethey were able to put their culinary knowledge to work and bring home eight outof the nine medals available.

The Culinarystudents who brought home medals are now eligible to compete in the SkillsUSANational Competition at Kansas Cityin June.

SkillsUSA is anational partnership of students, teachers and industry partners working towardthe future success of America’sworkforce. There are more than 300,000 members nationwide and roughly 1,600 ofthose members competed in Hot Springsthis year.

Ozarka College medalists include:

Gold medals:Michael Worch in the Culinary Division; Hanna Hunter in Baking; Krista Hughesin Food and Beverage.

Silver medals:Trisha Coughlin in the Culinary Division; Brian Smidt in Baking; Adam Askew inFood and Beverage.

Bronze medals:Austin Horne in Baking; Sami Jo Price in Food and Beverage.
