Penny Marshall, ‘Laverne & Shirley’ star and ‘A League of Their Own’ director, hailed as ‘one of the greats’ has Died

Penny Marshall best known for TV’s “Laverne & Shirley” and director of Mega Movies such as “Big” and “A League of Their Own” has died at the age of 75. Marshall died Monday in her Los Angeles home from complications due to diabetes.

Tom Hanks who starred in “Big” bid farewell to his spunky director in a tweet Tuesday night. “Goodbye, Penny. Man, did we laugh a lot! Wish we still could. Love you. Hanx,”
