Representative Snyder Accepting 2010 Summer Congressional Internship Applications

Washington, D.C.  – United States Representative Vic Snyder (AR-02) announced today that his office is accepting applications for month-long summer internships in his Washington, D.C. and Little Rock, Arkansas offices.

Only a limited number of positions are available, and the application process is competitive.  Students who are from the Second District or attend universities in the Second District will be considered.  The Second Congressional District is comprised of Conway, Faulkner, Perry, Pulaski, Saline, Van Buren, White, and Yell counties.

All applicants must be enrolled in a post-high school educational system.  Those granted internships will receive a modest stipend.  However, students interested in a Washington, D.C. internship should note that living expenses will likely exceed the stipend.

To request or inquire about a summer internship application, students should contact Valerie McNeese at (202) 225-2506, or access the application form on Congressman Snyder’s official website at http://www.house.gov/snyder/internships.shtml .

The applications are due by Monday, February 22, 2010.

The Office of Congressman Snyder also offers internships in the fall and spring semesters.  Students may arrange with their school to receive academic credit for any summer, fall, or spring internship.  The school must coordinate with Congressman Snyder’s office if academic credit is being offered.
