Retirement Reception to Honor Employee of 51 years

Cora Sue Jackson will be honored at a reception Thursday, June 20 from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. hosted by Stanley Wood Chevrolet Buick GMC Cadillac and Scott Wood Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram at the General Motors dealership location at 1674 Batesville Blvd. “We want to invite everyone to come out and help us honor Cora for her many years of service to our dealership and the local business community. We will miss her and wish her well in retirement,” said Scott Wood, dealer and general manager.

Within several months of graduating from Batesville High School in 1961 Cora Sue Jackson began work at Stanley Wood Chevrolet as a bookkeeper and receptionist. Over the next fourteen years, Mrs. Jackson learned accountancy and advanced in job responsibilities. After an abrupt loss of the former business accountant, Mrs. Jackson became the Business Accounting Manager/Controller in 1975 and has been leading the business office since.
“My fifty-one plus years has spanned three generations of the Wood family and I’ve experienced alot of changes during that time. Several other employees have a long tenure at the dealership as well and it has been a pleasure to work with all of them,” said Jackson. “One of the achievements I have enjoyed is the General Motors trip program. Because we have been timely and accurate my husband Butch and I have been privileged to take several cruises and travel to many countries. We hope to spend more time with family and friends, and continue traveling as we begin this new
chapter in our lives,” Jackson concluded.
“Cora Sue has been an integral part of our business for fifty-one years. It’s hard to imagine getting things done without her,” said Stan Wood, President of Stanley Wood Chevrolet Company. “Her incredible accuracy and compliance with the highest standards has resulted annual awards from General Motors. It’s an amazing track record and we are proud of her,” Wood said.
Mrs. Jackson has been married to Charles (Butch) Jackson for over fifty years. She has two sons, Brett and wife Vanessa of Beebe, Bradley and wife Ashley of Conway, and two granddaughters, Brienne of Beebe and Kinley of Conway. They are members of Ruddell Hill Baptist Church where Mrs. Jackson served as church treasurer for twenty years and has enjoyed serving in the nursery.
