Reynolds Announces Batesville Visit with Veterans

Vows to ‘restore the veterans’ voice’ in WashingtonCONWAY – Republican United States Senate candidate, and Batesville High School graduate, Col. Conrad Reynolds (US Army, Ret.) today announced his plans to visit Batesville as part of his statewide veterans listening tour to discuss the challenges facing Arkansas veterans and their families.

Reynolds will be hosting the listening event on Wednesday, September 16, at American Legion Post 114 at 100 Legion Lane from 5-7 p.m.

“Throughout our history, America’s men and women have answered the call of duty and stood fast by their post. We are here because of them. Our way of life is protected because of them. And our government exists because of them,” Reynolds said. “We must do right by our veterans – they are the heroes of yesterday, today and tomorrow.”

Reynolds, a 29-year veteran of the United States Army, began his military career in December 1979 by enlisting in the Reserve in 1979, joining the 318th Military Intelligence Detachment based in Jonesboro. He earned his commission and joined the regular Army once he graduated from the University of Central Arkansas in 1982.

“It is special to continue my tour of Arkansas in Batesville, where I attended high school and became a proud Pioneer,” Reynolds said. “I look forward to visiting with my Independence County friends and my brothers and sisters in uniform who proudly stood their post and served their country.

“As a veteran, and having friends and family who have had problems with the VA, I know that our system is loaded with inefficiencies,” Reynolds said. “With less than a quarter of Congress having served in the military, the voice of veterans is limited. My vow is to represent the needs and concerns of Arkansas veterans and their families in the United States Senate and restore the voice of veterans across the nation.”
