Richard Beck keynote speaker for the L.C. Sears Seminar Series in Searcy

The Harding University Honors College will host Richard Beck, professor and chair of psychology at Abilene (Texas) Christian University, as the keynote speaker for the L.C. Sears Seminar Series.

Beck will speak Jan. 29 at 4 p.m. at Midnight Oil Coffeehouse as part of the Stimulating Conversation series and will be interviewed by Ken Cameron, professor of psychology at Harding. Beck will also speak Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. in Cone Chapel on “Winter Christians and Sick Souls: Spirituality in an Age of Doubt.”

Beck is the author of “Unclean” and “The Authenticity of Faith” and writes regularly about the interface of theology and psychology at his award-winning blog “Experimental Theology.”

The L.C. Sears Collegiate Seminar Series seeks to host stimulating, public presentations on topical issues relevant to the University community. The goal of each seminar is to encourage dialogue on important issues and unite the Harding intellectual community.
