Roy Rogers Film Festival July 25 In Bull Shoals, Arkansas

BRANSON, MISSOURI.  July 21, 2009 –  A Roy Rogers Film Festival will take place at the Bull Shoals Theater of the Arts this Saturday, July 25 starting at 1 p.m.  Five classic, family-friendly Roy Rogers films will be shown, including “Roll On Texas Moon,” “Sons of the Pioneers,” “Along the Navajo Trail,” “Young Bill Hickok” and “Trigger, Jr.”  A feature on those ever-faithful sidekicks and a short biographical film about Roy and Dale will also be shown.    In conjunction with the Film Festival, a special exhibit of photos and memorabilia will be on display in the theater lobby, courtesy of The Roy Rogers-Dale Evans Museum Attraction, which is based in Branson, Missouri.   The evening will culminate with a live performance by Roy Rogers Jr. and Dustin Roy Rogers (the grandson of Roy Rogers and Dale Evans) with the High Riders Band, performing classic western and cowboy music. The live performance begins at 7 pm.    Said Roy Rogers, Jr., “We are thrilled that the Bull Shoals community is celebrating my father’s on-screen legacy. The values that he represented in his life, and in his films, are more important than ever.”  He continued, “The upcoming Roy Rogers film trilogy, being produced by 821 Entertainment Group in Nashville, will continue his legacy for years to come.”  Tickets for the Film Festival and Concert are $13 (children under 12 are free) and can be purchased at the Little Bit Used Shop, Arvest Bank in Bull Shoals, the Mountain Home Area Chamber of Commerce, First National Bank & Trust Company in Lakeview or the Bull Shoals Theater of the Arts box office. The ticket price includes the film festival and live performance.
