LITTLE ROCK, AR—Secretary of State Charlie Daniels today announced the completion of a series of enhancements to the Law Enforcement Officers’ Memorial located on the Arkansas State Capitol’s south mall.

Enhancements to the memorial include the addition of a flagpole, lighting, and new, raised lettering.   The local chapter of Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.) contributed a portion of the funding for the new flagpole.  The Secretary of State’s office worked with Roberts-McNutt Roofing and Waterproofing Contractors and Arkansas Flag and Banner to complete the two-week project.

“Our law enforcement officers put their lives on the line every day so that we may live our lives without fear for our personal safety,” Daniels said.  “This memorial is a fitting tribute to those heroes who gave the ultimate sacrifice to protect their fellow man.”

Dedicated in 1994, the Law Enforcement Officers’ Memorial recalls Arkansas lawmen and women who lost their lives in the line of duty.

C.O.P.S. is a nonprofit organization which provides resources to the families of slain law enforcement officers.
