LITTLE ROCK, AR—Secretary of State Charlie Daniels today certified as sufficient a petition submitted on behalf of the Green Party of Arkansas to form a new political party and have its candidates appear on the November 2 , 2010 general election ballot.
A.C.A 7-7-205 allows any group wishing to form a new political party to do so by submitting a petition to the Secretary of State. The petition must contain the signatures of at least 10,000 registered voters. The Green Party of Arkansas submitted its petition on June 17 and the Secretary of State’s office verified 11,505 valid signatures from registered Arkansas voters.
