Secretary Daniels Encourages Voters to Preview Sample Ballots

Little Rock, AR—Secretary of State Charlie Daniels today encouraged those Arkansans who have yet to vote early in the state’s November 2, 2010 General Election and Non-Partisan Judicial Runoff to preview their sample ballots online before going to the polls.

Voters in the following 63 participating counties can preview their sample ballots online at www.VoteNaturally.org: Arkansas, Ashley, Baxter, Benton, Boone, Bradley, Calhoun, Carroll, Clark, Clay, Cleburne, Cleveland, Columbia, Conway, Craighead, Crawford, Crittenden, Cross, Desha, Drew, Faulkner, Franklin, Fulton, Garland, Grant, Greene, Hempstead, Hot Spring, Howard, Independence, Izard, Jackson, Jefferson, Lafayette, Lawrence, Lee, Little River, Logan, Lonoke, Madison, Marion, Miller, Monroe, Montgomery, Perry, Pike, Poinsett, Polk, Pope, Prairie, Pulaski, Randolph, Saline, Scott, Searcy, Sebastian, Sevier, Sharp, Union, Van Buren, Washington, White and Yell.     “Previewing these sample ballots before heading to the polls is convenient way to prepare voters and expedite the voting process,” Secretary Daniels said. “I encourage voters in those participating counties to take advantage of this service before Election Day.”   Voters in the counties that chose not to participate in the program can see sample ballots posted at early voting locations, at the courthouse, or in the local newspaper.

Secretary Daniels advises voters to visit www.votenaturally.org, the Secretary of State’s one-stop election resource for voters to view sample ballots, check voter registration, find polling locations and learn more about the voting process. Voters may also use their smart phones to view sample ballots and check voter registration on the mobile Voter View website available at www.votenaturally.org. The sample ballot offering is the result of a collaborative effort between the Secretary of State and the county clerks in participating counties.

As of October 19, more than 44,000 Arkansans have taken advantage of the convenience offered by voting early. Polls are open today from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm and Saturday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Early voting concludes at 5:00 pm on Monday, November 1. Statewide early voting locations can be found at www.VoteNaturally.org.
