Senator Tom Cotton (R-Arkansas) Statement on the Death of Staff Sgt. David Wyatt

Washington, D.C.—Senator Tom Cotton (R-Arkansas) today released the following statement on the death of Russellville native Staff Sgt. David Wyatt:

“Today I join all Arkansans and Americans in mourning the death of Staff Sgt. David Wyatt. A dedicated Marine, Staff Sgt. Wyatt fought on the front lines in both Iraq and Afghanistan. John 15:13 says, ‘Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.’ Staff Sgt. Wyatt laid down his life for us, his fellow Arkansans and his fellow countrymen, so that we might live in freedom. We cannot repay his sacrifice, nor can we fill the emptiness of his loved ones. But as Arkansans and Americans we must come together and honor his memory, today and every day. And we can comfort his family and friends, pray for them and remind them of the noble cause for which Staff Sgt. Wyatt fought. ”
