Washington, D.C. — Senator Tom Cotton (R-Arkansas) released the following statement after Iran announced it seized two British oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz:
“Iran’s hijacking of two British oil tankers in international waters is its latest act of piracy on the high seas. The United States, working closely with our British allies and all responsible states, will demand the release of the tankers and their crews immediately. The ayatollahs will continue their campaign of terror as long as we let them. Outrageous and lawless acts such as this hijacking call for international condemnation and punishment.”
