State Call Center Open for whose homes and property damaged by storms March 8 – 13, 2016

North Little Rock – A state call center is open today for residents of eight counties whose homes and property were damaged by the severe storms, tornadoes and flooding, March 8 – 13, 2016 to apply for State Individual Assistance.

Assistance may be available for eligible homeowners in Ashley, Chicot, Desha, Drew, Jefferson, Lee, Lincoln and Phillips counties whose primary residence was destroyed or uninhabitable and had eligible uninsured losses. Businesses, secondary homes, vacation homes and outbuildings or shelters are not eligible for state assistance.

Representatives from the Arkansas Department of Emergency Management will run the call center May 18- June 2, 2016 to explain disaster assistance programs and help eligible residents apply for aid. The lines are open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday; closed on Saturdays and Sundays; closed May 30, 2016 in observance of Memorial Day.

To apply, call the ADEM call center’s toll-free line, 1-888-683-2236 (ADEM) or register online, 24/7 at www.adem.arkansas.gov .

Categories of assistance include: home repairs, personal property repair/replacement; cleaning, sanitizing, and debris removal; repairs/replacement of primary transportation.

The following information is needed from the primary homeowners and/or renters to apply:

  • A phone number and email address where you can be reached;
  • Your social security number;
  • Your current mailing address;
  • The address of the affected property;
  • A brief description of the damages; and
  • Insurance information including your policy number.

 

The application period for residents of affected counties is May 18 – June 2, 2016.
