Stone Bank Remodeling Includes New Exhibit

When it came time for a new look at the Stone Bank home office in Mountain View, it seemed natural that the bank would include a tribute to the history of the community and the huge part that folk music plays in the Stone County culture.

Curated by Stone Banker Patricia Caston and local folk historian Renee Carr, the bank has installed an exhibit that traces the rich history of folk music in Stone County.  The display features photos, news stories, instruments and other artifacts donated by local families who have been a part of the area’s musical traditions.

Stone Bank is deeply involved in preserving the history and culture of Stone County, serving as a major corporate sponsor of this year’s Sesquicentennial events, the Ozark Folk Center, Ozark Highlands Radio and the Music Roots program.

To view the exhibit, visit Stone Bank at 802 E. Main Street during the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
