Sylamore Special from Mountain View brings home 1st Place Youth In Bluegrass Competition

The 19th annual Youth in Bluegrass Band Contest at Silver Dollar City in Branson, Missouri, and was held on May 28 & 29, 2021.

This has been a Silver Dollar City tradition for 19 years, which took place during the Bluegrass & BBQ Festival, which gives talented young musicians from across the nation the chance to compete for top honors and cash prizes during one of the country’s premier bluegrass events.

The Mountain View Bluegrass Band, “Sylamore Special”, won 1st Place Youth In Bluegrass Competition.

Competitors must be 21 or younger to compete, but their parents are allowed to take part as members of a band.

The contest began in 2002, and this year would have been the 20th consecutive year if last year’s competition hadn’t been canceled because of the pandemic.
