Tea Party Endorsement of Jim Keet for Arkansas Governor

Jim Keet has received the endorsement of The Arkansas Tea Party Inc. and The Benton County Tea Party in his bid for Governor of Arkansas.  The endorsement recognizes Jim Keet’s outstanding character, judgment, experience, and conservative values. His experience as a dedicated public servant and small business owner will benefit Arkansas’s economy as he leads the citizens of Arkansas as their highest executive officer.

Tea Party leadership stated, “With our positions on smaller government, lower taxes, transparency in government, and adherence to our Constitution it is clear that Jim Keet is the only gubernatorial candidate that could gain our support.

Arkansas Tea Party Inc. member Todd Sharp said, “The current administration has grown Arkansas’ government at an alarming rate, spent an inherited 800+ million dollar budget surplus, expanded social programs, gone in debt to the federal government on Medicaid and unemployment benefits, and has been a silent partner to the Obama administration on issues important to Arkansans such as health care and immigration.”

“Arkansas needs more jobs, and I feel like Jim Keet understands the ins and outs of business and industry. Let’s get Arkansans working again” says Little Rock resident and Tea Party member, Barbara Dalby.

“When reviewing Jim Keet’s platform and voting record while in the Arkansas State Legislature it shows his conservative views clearly match that of The Arkansas Tea Party positions on issues that concern Arkansas citizens” said Joanne Filiatreau a member of The Arkansas Tea Party and North Little Rock resident.

Kirk Hartness, Chairman of The Benton County Tea Party Committee states, “The Benton County TEA Party Committee enthusiastically joins with the other Arkansas TEA Party organizations in endorsing Jim Keet for Governor of Arkansas.  The initiatives of the Obama administration, namely, Cap & Trade, Card Check, Health Care Reform, and a host of others are clearly unconstitutional.  Blanche Lincoln has supported many of these initiatives.  The great majority of the people of Arkansas have recognized this and that is behind their rejection of Blanche Lincoln’s reelection bid for U.S. Senate.  If the Federal Government and our federally elected officials will not uphold the Constitution, the last line of defense for the people is state government, headed by the governor.  Arkansas’ current Governor, Mike Beebe, has indicated that he supports Blanche Lincoln and many of the Obama initiatives, again against the will of the great majority of Arkansans.  He has refused to work with surrounding states to join law suits protecting Arkansans in particular, and Americans in general, against these unconstitutional invasions of states and individual rights.  That being the case, it is time to replace Governor Beebe and the status quo of party politics with someone who will aggressively defend the citizens of Arkansas from this unwarranted and unconstitutional land grab by the Obama administration and the liberal political establishment which currently controls Washington.  Jim Keet has assured us that he will stand in the gap to protect Arkansans.  That is the basis of the Benton County TEA Party’s endorsement.  We hope the rest of Arkansas will join us in rejecting party politics for someone who will put Arkansas and Arkansans first.”
