Temporary Lane Closures to Interstate 430 for Blasting Operations Completed

Construction work on the I-430/State Highway 10 interchange recently required some temporary lane closures, according to Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) officials.

No further closures should be required on I-430 near Exit 9 for blasting operations, although the lane restrictions will remain in place for regular construction. If the contractor should discover a need for further blasting, an announcement will be made prior to the actual work.

In the past workers closed all northbound and southbound lanes of I-430 near Exit 9, for 15 minute intervals several times on the weekends. These closures on I-430 and State Highway 10 allowed the contractor to conduct blasting operations for the new ramp being constructed that will carry traffic from westbound State Highway 10 to northbound I-430.

Motorists should be aware of all advanced warning signs and traffic drums and should exercise caution when approaching and traveling through all highway work zones. Additional travel information can be found at IDriveArkansas.com or ArkansasHighways.com. You can also follow us on Twitter @AHTD.
