Description: TheArkansas Saxophone Quartet will perform at 3 p.m. Nov. 20 in the University of Central Arkansas’s Snow Fine Arts CenterRecital Hall.
This will be a lecture-recital presentation on the history ofthe Saxophone Quartet titled “In The Beginning… The SaxophoneQuartet.” The lecture recital, which will use lecture, PowerPoint andmusical examples, is free and open to the public.
The quartet is equally adept at all styles of chamber music,ranging from transcriptions to avant-garde contemporary music.
The quartet has performed at the North American SaxophoneAlliance Conferences in Columbia, S.C. and Columbia, Mo; Southern Arkansas University, UALR, UCA, OuachitaBaptist, ASU-Beebe and the International Conference of the Arts and Humanitiesin Honolulu. Hawaii.
