The Master Gardeners of Independence County applications for College Scholarship

The Master Gardeners of Independence County are now accepting applications for their College Scholarship for the fall of the 2012 school year.  Applicant must be a resident of Independence County.  All areas of study will be eligible but any student pursuing a degree in Horticulture or Landscape Design will be given priority.

This annual scholarship is awarded to a student based on considerations of academic performance, leadership, extracurricular activities, work experience, references, economic need, and other information presented by the applicant.  Emphasis on the actual need of student will take precedence over student scholastic standing (G.P.A.).

Interested parties may pickup complete rules and application forms at the Extension Office located at 1770 Myers Street, Batesville, 8 to 4:30, Monday thru Friday.  Applications are also available at the Counselor’s Office at area high schools and colleges.

Deadline for receiving completed applications is March 30, 2012.
