Tim Ernst to present program on outdoor photography

Tim Ernst, Arkansas’ premiere nature photographer, will showcase his work in a slide-show presentation at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9, in Nucor Auditorium at Lyon College. Admission will be free to this Lyon College Convocation Committee presentation.

 Ernst has 30 years of experience as a wildlife photographer, and has donated more than 15,000 hours of volunteer work in the outdoors. He has published 10 books featuring large collections of his photos from all over Arkansas and the United States. His work has been featured in National Geographic, Sierra Club and Hallmark calendars, Reader’s Digest, and the New York Times.

 Ernst has also been a long-time outdoorsman and hiker. He founded and has served as president of the Ozark Highlands Trail Association. His backpacking articles have appeared in numerous national publications, and he is the author of a dozen hiking trail guidebooks..

 Ernst has been teaching photography workshops now for more than 20 years, specializing in digital workflow and fine art printing. He has classes for beginners, intermediate, and advanced photographers, plus has special workshops for wildflower photography and fine art black and white printing. His workshops are held at his new print studio and classroom facility (the Buffalo River Gallery), and at the Harmony Mountain Retreat near Jasper.
