Tim Griffin Advances to Top Level of Young Guns Program

Washington– The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) announced today that Republican Tim Griffin (AR-02) has reached ‘Young Gun’ status, the top level of its three-level Young Guns program. By advancing to the program’s top tier, Griffin has proven his ability to build a winning campaign and achieve substantial fundraising goals.

Founded in the 2007-2008 election cycle by Reps. Eric Cantor (R-VA), Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) and Paul Ryan (R-WI), the Young Guns program is a member-driven organization dedicated to electing open-seat and challenger candidates nationwide.

As a fifth generation Arkansan, Tim Griffin understands what Arkansans expect and deserve of their representatives in Congress. Griffin has served in the United States Army Reserve for 13 years, was deployed to Iraq and currently holds the rank of major. Tim Griffin served as the United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Arkansas and is a community leader in Little Rock. Tim Griffin’s dedication and extensive service to his country and to Arkansas make him an excellent candidate for Congress.

“Tim Griffin has proven that he is ready put this seat back in the Republican column,” said NRCC Chairman Pete Sessions (R-TX). “Tim’s campaign is a symbol of the growing momentum behind conservative Republican candidacies both in Arkansas and across the country. As President Obama and Speaker Nancy Pelosi continue to push their big-government, big-spending policies onto the backs of hard-working families, Republicans like Tim Griffin will continue to present a clear alternative to a Democrat majority that continues to spend too much, borrow too much and tax too much at the expense of the American people.”

Now that Griffin has completed the benchmarks to place him on the road to victory, he is ready to provide a positive vision for Arkansas and defeat whichever Pelosi ally emerges from the Democrat primary.
