Conway artist Virginia Potter presented an acrylic demonstration to members of the North Central Arkansas Artist League Monday, January 27th, at Bayside Art Studio and Gallery on the corner of Greenwood and Highway 330 in Old Town Fairfield Bay.
Potter shared techniques and advice with the artists while painting a 12” x 24” horizontal canvas of an Arkansas landscape featuring a rocky bluff overlooking distant valleys and tree-covered mountains. About 20 local area artists enjoyed watching her paint.
Born in Quitman, Potter said she is inspired by the natural beauty of the land and its people, and enjoys painting special areas nearby such as St. Boniface, the Old Mill, and Petit Jean State Park. Co-founder of the Conway League of Artists, Potter works in all media, and is currently the artist-in-residence at Carmen’s Art and Antiques on Oak Street where she currently maintains a studio. Her work can also be seen online through Fine Art America and other sites.
The NCA Artist League hosts demonstrations and workshops throughout the year for members, and meets to paint together and exhibit at various venues in 3 area cities.
