White Co. Medical Foundation Scholarship Applications Available

The White County Medical Foundation and White County Medical Center Auxiliary have announced that applications are now available for the Foundation’s 2013 Scholarship Program. Fifteen $1,000 scholarships are awarded each year to graduating high school seniors, as well as White County Medical Center associates and children of associates.

Scholarships will be awarded to students going in to healthcare-related fields of study, including computer applications, accounting or other business careers. Applicants must be high school seniors who are residents of White County; White County Medical Center associates and their children who are high school seniors at any school may also apply.

“The WCMC Auxiliary is delighted to help provide opportunities for promising students to pursue a career in medical services,” said Auxiliary President Kathy Gammill. “We believe it is important to invest in our young people, in hopes they will bring their newfound knowledge back to our community upon graduation from college.”

The application process requires applicants to complete an application and submit a current high school transcript, ACT scores, a letter of recommendation from an academic source and two letters of recommendation from others. Complete applications are due to the White County Medical Foundation Office at 1200 S. Main St., Searcy, AR 72143; or the WCMC Marketing Department at 3214 E. Race Ave., Searcy, AR 72143, no later than Friday, March 15 at 4:30 p.m.

The Foundation scholarships were established as a memorial for a loved one, or in memory or in honor of people who made great contributions to medicine in White County.

Applications are available through all high school counselors in White County, the Marketing Department at WCMC’s North Campus, or the Foundation Office on WCMC’s South Campus. For more information, contact Foundation Specialist Blaine Baxley at (501) 278-3186 or via email at foundation@wcmc.org.
