Turning Natural Edge Bowls

(Intermediate) with
Gene Sparling August 3-5, 2018
Gene Sparling began learning to work with wood as a child, from his father, and has continued learning and working with wood throughout his life. In this 3 day course, students will learn to make natural-edge bowls on the lathe. Natural-edge bowls are each a one of a kind, unique, and attractive project. These bowls will be turned from greenwood (freshly cut) and students will be guided through the process from creating a turning blank, how to obtain different natural edge forms from a log, and all the way through to curing and finishing a piece. This is an intermediate level class and requires some basic experience with wood turning.
