To All Yarnell Ice Cream Customers,
Yarnell Ice Cream Company is dedicated to producing safe and wholesome quality frozen
food products. We are aware of the recent public information concerning the outbreak of
Salmonella contaminated peanut butter and peanut containing products. The FDA has
issued a warning urging consumers to avoid eating cookies, cakes, ice cream and other foods
containing peanut butter until more can be learned about the contamination. The Peanut
Corporation of America has issued a voluntary recall of all peanut containing products
produced at its Georgia plant since July of 2008.
WE WANT TO EMPHASIZE THAT ALL PEANUT CONTAINING PRODUCTS
PRODUCED BY YARNELL ICE CREAM COMPANY ARE PRODUCED WITH
PEANUT BUTTER AND PEANUT CONTAINING INGREDIENTS THAT ARE NOT
PRODUCED IN THE ABOVE MENTIONED PEANUT CORPORATION OF
AMERICA PLANT.
THE PEANUT INGREDIENT SUPPLIERS OF YARNELL ICE CREAM COMPANY
HAVE ASSURED US THAT EACH OF THE PEANUT CONTAINING INGREDI-
ENTS USED IN YARNELL PRODUCTS ARE SAFE AND WHOLESOME AND
FREE OF ANY FOOD SAFETY RISK ISSUES.
We want to stress that customer satisfaction and safety is of utmost importance in our quest
to be your preferred ice cream producer. We also want to stress that all of the peanut and
peanut containing products that we produce are wholesome and free of any food safety risk
associated with this recent outbreak of Salmonella contamination.
